  • CiteThisForMe:  Select MLA versus APA default, saves straight to Google Drive or can copy and paste.

  • BibMe: Create citations for APA, MLA, Chicago, and Turabian using WorldCat.

  • SnappyWords: This is a visual dictionary and thesaurus that uses lines and arrows together with coloured circles to show connections between words. Double-click on other circles will show new connections.

  • RhymeZone: Find words that rhyme, are synonyms, antonyms, definitions, and so much more.

  • WebCorp: Use the web as a corpus.

  • WordNet: An extensive corpus and text vocabulary and phrase analyzer. Find how often a word is used and in what context. Analyze vocabulary level of a text.

  • Compleat Lexical Tutor: While not the prettiest site in the world, Lexical Tutor provides a robust set of lexical tools for students, teachers, and researchers.

  • Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA): Probably the most common corpus on the internet providing vocabulary text search within a wide variety of genres.

  • Textalyser: A comprehensive text analysis tool. Easy to use with loads of data.

  • WordHippo: A simple tool for finding synonyms, antonyms, and sample sentences.

  • WORDCOUNT: A nice, clean tool for finding the frequency of a word in everyday usage.

  • Readability-Score.com: Paste in a text or URL, upload a PDF, or use a bulk list to analyze text for readability.

  • PaperRater: A decent amount of text analysis for grammar, overuse of sentence or phrases, and other review information.

  • WordCounter: Ranks word usage for a pasted text.

  • Voyant Tools: A very nice tool for analyzing text using word clouds, graphs, and even a custom corpus.

  • Frequency Level Checker : Another site that doesn’t look very nice, but works well. Paste in a text and compare vocabulary level for each word. Great for finding difficult words for language learners.

  • The Readability Test Tool: Paste in a text and  analyze text for readability.

  • Alphabetizer: Sorts the vocabulary in a text alphabetically.

  • Pro Writing Aid  : Check a text for grammar and plagiarism.
